Several years ago we started the process of building a retirement home after purchasing a parcel of ground. We had built our main family home which we were leaving after 30 years. Despite having been through the building process before, selecting a contractor these days was daunting. In constructing a home the most critical decision is your choice of contractor. We were blessed to have been able speak candidly with folks who had recently built in the Rochester area and Greater Living company and Doug Sample were highly recommended.
Kelly Homes will seamlessly take you through the entire process of selecting and adapting architectural plans to the final construction of your home. These library of home designs is extensive and after selecting one, we were extremely impressed at the amount of thoughtful design detain that went into the layout. No cookie cutter offerings here!
Being a larger construction company, I was initially apprehensive that we might get lost in the crowd. Not so. At every juncture they provided detailed personal service, options and careful troubleshooting of any concerns. Further, because of the number of home that they have built they have honed their team of subcontractors to a well coordinated group so that week by week each new task was being completed. Doug and Lindsey were a great team with Lindsey being our primary contact person. Our concerns and questions were always promptly and courteously addressed. Further this group seems to navigate the labyrinth of codes and regulations with ease on your behalf so that these are not issues that you will have to address. Turns outs that they are a larger group for the best of reasons - they simply do great work.
A new home construction can be an intimidating experience. Our previous experience in home construction was difficult. Working with Kelly Homes was a completely different matter. They managed to turn a scary formidable project into something that was enjoyable and actually fun. Lastly, we were apprehensive as we lived out of the state and could not be present at all stages of the build. We discovered the Kelly Homes team to be people of integrity. They follow through on what they commit to do. We would recommend them highly. You can trust them to finely craft your next home.

“When we decided it was time to downsize we set out to find a builder that would provide flexibility, quality construction, and value all backed up by a guarantee of workmanship.
Over the course of about a year we toured multiple developments, talking with the homeowners as well as the contractors. After comparison and careful consideration we chose Kelly Homes.
There were a wide variety of floor plans to choose from as well the flexibility to opt for a custom floor plan, which we did.
The quality of construction was evident from the pouring of the footers to the final nail in the trim. The entire group of tradesmen were highly skilled.

“We are very pleased with our home build project with WCI and Sample Realty. Going back to the beginning we found our lot at Chatham Estates by chance just driving around neighborhoods. A quick call to our realtor and we were soon meeting with Rick Borrelli of WCI and Doug Sample to talk about the project concept. A couple of meetings then took place with the design architect to implement some changes we preferred to original design.
The project then took off and we were amazed to see the progress in real-time of our soon to be home.
The key to the success of the project was the constant communication stream between myself, Bethann, Doug Sample and his Business Manager Lindsay Chiarenza. Any questions or concerns we had were answered almost instantaneously no matter what time or day of the week it was. Doug laid out a project timeline for us so we knew what to expect and provided us any updates necessary along the way. Several on site visits by us proved beneficial as we were able to answer questions real time from interior detail work that was being done on the house.
The teamwork involved and the communication during the process made the final walk through a formality with no surprises involved.
We love our new home! From the stone work on the exterior to the custom built book ends in the Great Room, the workmanship that went into this build from Doug and his team is truly outstanding. We look forward to growing old in our “dream home”.
